10 Aug HOW TO MAKE SPARKLING LAVENDER LEMONADE
Happy Thursday you guys! Its finally starting to feel like summer, what better way to cool off than with lemonade, not just any lemonade… a sparkling lavender lemonade!!!A few weeks ago my friends, Joelle, Didier and I travelled to Terre Bleu lavender farm, it was our first time out there and it was so so beautiful, not to mention the smell was intoxicating. While we were there, we frolicked in the fields, snapped lots and lots of photos and enjoyed the most delicious lavender ice cream. I wasn’t sold on the lavender ice cream at first, I thought the flavour of the lavender would be too overpowering and also soapy tasting but it wasn’t! So obviously, I picked up some lavender on our way out to hopefully bake with!
Since I haven’t had a chance to bake with the lavender yet, I thought this would be a quick and delicious way to elevate an everyday lemonade. I totally get that lavender is not for everyone, I’m always hesitant to use spices or herbs that maybe soapy tasting but I actually really enjoyed it so I hope you will too! I have plans to bake lavender cookies, lavender ice cream, maybe even a lavender cocktail! Stay tuned you guys!
½ cup water
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 tsp lavender
In a small saucepan, add the sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a boil and turn off the element. Stir in the lavender and let it steep for about 8-10 minutes. The longer you steep it, it stronger the lavender scent.
In a tall glass, add 1.5 ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 ounce of the lavender syrup and top with refreshing sparkling water!
