That feeling you get when you walk into a shop and find everything you’ve been looking for and not looking for. This past weekend, I visited the Scarborough Town Centre’s Holiday MRKT, a one-stop shop where you can pick up all your holiday gifts! The STC Holiday MRKT has over 30 different, local artisans offering beautiful and unique gifts!
I try and shop local whenever I can to support local artists, our economy; plus you’re always sure to find something special! Being the foodie that I am, I put together a holiday gift guide for your foodie friends and family. Everything can be found at either the STC Holiday MRKT or shops at Scarborough Town Centre! The STC Holiday MRKT is open from December 1st to December 24th, they offer complimentary coat & parcel check AND you can enter for a chance to win $500 in STC gift cards! Get all the details to win here!
1. 3 times a Day by Marilou and Alexandre Champagne from Indigo.
I just received this book not too long ago and LOVE LOVE LOVE every single recipe in Marilou’s cookbook. The photography is gorgeous, the recipes are easy and delicious! This is her second book and it’s as impressive (if not more) than her first. It would make the perfect gift for any cook or baker. And she’s Canadian!
2. Unicorn cake from Le Dolci.
Le Dolci just opened up in STC and is SO cute. Le Dolci is a bakeshop that specializes in custom cakes, macarons and cupcakes. Their cakes are custom and so adorable. They are also decorating Rudolph cakes, similar to this unicorn one! If you’re in charge of dessert for your next holiday party, pick up this impressive cake. I promise everyone will ooh and ahh over this cake!
3. Kate Spade Eat Cake for Breakfast Cake Stand from Hudson’s Bay.
Kate Spade anything please! This Eat Cake for Breakfast cake stand is cheeky and so beautiful. It would be perfect to display your holiday cakes and desserts! I also love that its not super Christmas-y so it can be used all year round!
4. Macarons from Nadège.
Nadège macarons are my favourite macarons in the city! They have so many different flavours to choose from. Holidays get busy and with all the holiday parties you’ll probably be attending, make sure to pick up a package of assorted macarons as a hostess gift! I love gifting wine but everyone brings wine. The holiday packages come in 12, 16 and 25. They also offer mini cakes, larger cakes and chocolate bon bons!
5. Le Creuset Dutch Oven from Hudson’s Bay.
Every cook should have a dutch oven, it’s such a versatile pot. Taylor and I used to live in a very small apartment with a very small kitchen, therefore very little storage. We only had room for one pot and this was what we lived with for 3.5 years! You could literally cook anything and everything in this pot; stews, chili, pasta, soups, eggs, you name it, I’ve made it! It’s perfect because it works on any stove top, electric, gas and even induction. I’m definitely picking up a Le Creuset for my mom this year.
The ladies behind Bonnefetti are so lovely! If you are planning on sending Christmas cards this year (which you should!!), pick up a set of their cute paper goods. Their Box of Sweets cards include a set of 12 cards with three different designs that are sure to bring a smile to your foodie friend’s faces! They are intentionally blank on the inside so you can write as much or as little as your heart desires.
7. Donut Ornament from Indigo.
Ornaments are my favourite things to give for Christmas. There are so many to choose from and its different depending on the person that you’ll be gifting. This donut ornament from Indigo is absolutely ADORABLE! Your foodie friend will love you!
8. Marble Cheese Knives from Hudson’s Bay.
These marble cheese knives are simple and look so elegant! I love anything marble and would pair beautifully with a marble cheese board.
9. Festive Touch Lungo Cups by Nespresso from Hudsons Bay.
This year, Nespresso did a beautiful collaboration with Craig&Karl and released these limited edition, black porcelain cups perfect for any coffee lover! They styles available are Espresso, Lungo, Cappuccino and Mug. Pair these fun cups with their limited edition pods as well!
These Brazilian treats are made from condensed milk and cocoa and are a cross between a truffle, caramel and fudge. It’s a fun twist on a box of chocolates but so much more special. They are handmade chocolates with premium ingredients, no preservatives and presented in this beautiful box. Make sure to check them out at the STC Holiday MRKT.
11. Cookie Advent Cookbook by Barbara Grunes from Indigo.
I love advent calendars and there are so many creative ones that come out over the holiday season. My favourites are always chocolate, candy and cookie inspired calendars. This advent calendar is a little different than the traditional advent calendar because rather than revealing a treat, its reveals a festive cookie recipe that you can make that day! I’m a baking fanatic so this one was definitely a winner! This cookie advent cookbook features 24 different cookie recipes starting from December 1st leading up to Christmas Eve.
